About The Event

Trainers: D. Shannan McKinney, MEd, LPC, LPCS, LAC, CACII and Priscilla Wilson LISW-CP (S), LAC-S, LAC, CS

The certification 101 training is to familiarize in-process counselors, Clinical Supervisors, and Treatment Directors on the certification process developed with IC&RC.  Participants will develop a plan on test taking, obtaining 200 clinical supervision hours, understanding IC&RC domains, and understand the limitations of not finishing within 3 years.

Those in-process counselors with a Bachelors in a human services field will learn how to present a case study and complete an oral interview based on their case study.  Clinical Supervisors and Treatment Directors will learn how the new process will directly impact their work tasks and their clinical staff.

Participants are asked to copy the most recent version  of the AP of SC   certification manual for use during the training.

D. Shannan McKinney, MEd, LPCS, LPC, LACS, LAC, MAC, CS, SAP, has over 20 years of experience in substance prevention/intervention/treatment. She is currently employed by AOBHS as the Director of Operations & Treatment. Shannan is a current member of the SCAADAC Certification Commission.

Mrs. Priscilla Wilson, LISW-CP (S), LAC-S, LAC, CS, is employed at the Phoenix Center in Greenville South Carolina as a Clinical Director. She has been with the Phoenix Center for 16 years. Priscilla was employed previously with another 301 agency as a Treatment Director. She has provided coaching and coding services for MIGP (Modified Interpersonal Group Process) as well as provided services to patients in a co-occurring day program. Priscilla has experience in medical social work and psychiatric social work within an in-patient hospital. Priscilla received her bachelor’s degree in social work from Columbia College and her MSW from the University of South Carolina School of Social Work. She has been a member of the commission with the Addictions Professionals of South Carolina for 6 years

Credit: 6 Hours

Audience:  Art Therapists, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors, Licensed Professional Counselors, Social Workers, Mental Health Counselors, School Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Medical Professionals
