Presenter: Joshua A. Hall, DO

Description:

In this training, we will be discussing the neurological shortcomings we must face when helping people with addiction stabilize and recover. We will also learn how to recognize the difference between acute and chronic neurological changes.

Objectives:
  1. Understand the reward pathway
  2. Discuss dealing with denial
  3. Discuss and recognize neuro-complications

Dr. Joshua A. Hall completed his medical degree at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine Atlanta Branch and then completed his residency in family medicine at UPMC Pinnacle Lititz. He is double boarded in Family Medicine and Addiction Medicine and is now the Director of Addiction Medicine at Regenesis Health Centers and the CMO of the Phoenix Center. He has interests in addiction medicine, nutrition, and preventative care. Beyond practicing medicine, Dr. Hall enjoys old cars, golfing and spending time with his wife and two sons. He sees patients from birth to as long as possible in Spartanburg, Union, Greenville, Woodruff, and Gaffney.

Credit: 6 Hours

Audience:  Art Therapists, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors, Licensed Professional Counselors, Social Workers, Mental Health Counselors, School Counselors, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Medical Professionals
